Open positions to join COSMO-LYA

We have recently announced job opportunities to join the COSMO-LYA team of IFAE in the Fall of 2023. We are looking for a new PhD student and up to two postdoctoral researchers to work on the data analysis of the Lyman alpha forest dataset of the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument:

• Two postdoctoral position (3 years)

• One PhD student position (4 years)

IFAE is a worldwide-recognized center for fundamental research in Particle Physics, Astroparticle Physics and Cosmology, and provides an international, dynamic, and competitive environment for training of young researchers. The IFAE Cosmology group is presently formed by 4 faculty, 3 post-docs and 6 students and is a full member of the Dark Energy Survey (DES), the PAU Survey Collaboration, the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI), the Euclid Consortium and the Dark Energy Science Collaboration (DESC) of the Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST) at the Rubin Observatory. The group plays leading roles in the analysis of DES, PAU, and DESI, and is preparing for the data exploitation of the Euclid and LSST-DESC surveys.

The successful candidates will join the ERC-funded COSMO-LYA research group, led by Andreu Font-Ribera. COSMO-LYA will use innovative techniques and new data from the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) to address some of the open questions in fundamental physics.
